Linux PC

Linux development is supported "natively" using C libraries and the gcc toolchain. It is also possible to develop xAP applications under Linux using Perl and Python. A Java toolkit for xAP, which will also run under Linux, is also now available.

As with any xAP environment, if you are running more than one xAP enabled application on the same PC, you'll need to install and run a piece of software called a xAP hub so that the applications can share the same network socket. The xAP hub is available from the download section.

Documentation for the xAP library is work-in-progress. The source code for  some of the simpler projects is well commented, however, and should serve as a useful starting point - the simpler examples, such as the xAP clock and xAP test harness applications are good places to start.
