Meteor

Do you want to enable Homeseer to react to specific  incoming telephone calls ?

This plug-in could help. The Meteor Caller ID unit is manufactured by  Crucible Technologies. For more information on their products, refer to: http://www.crucible-technologies.com/caller-display.html.

The device delivers caller id data to the serial port of a suitably equipped computer. Homeseer is home automation software written by Homeseer Technologies. For more information on their products, refer to: http://www.homeseer.com

The Meteor Caller ID plug-in for Homeseer allows the Homeseer server to  monitor and react to incoming telephone calls. Information such as the calling number, the time, date and whether the caller withheld their number is made  available to Homeseer in real time, and Homeseer may action those events  accordingly - for example, by looking up the name associated with the phone  number, and announcing the name of the caller.

Features

The Meteor plug-in supports a broadcast protocol which allows it to receive  data from multiple caller id units on the same local area network. This allows a single instance of the plug-in to support multiple lines, and also allows applications other than Homeseer (or, indeed, more than one instance of Homeseer  itself) to make use of the Caller ID information. Currently the plug-in is  limited to one Caller ID unit per computer.

Licence Terms

This plug-in is made available as freeware for non-commercial use by me, Patrick Lidstone. It may not be repackaged, redistributed (including ftp mirrors and e-mail) or resold. The software is supplied without warranty, and you use it  at your own risk.
